NOB HILL (KFSM) -- Arkansas State Police Troopers have set up a donation account to help one of their fellow officers whose home was destroyed by a fire Monday (Sept. 12).

Trooper Chris Martin, his wife and two children made it out of their home safely after a fire broke out around 2 a.m.

Lowell Police Department Lt. Paul Pillaro said he had been staying updated with a family member on how the Martins were coping.

"They lost everything during the fire last night," Pillaro said. "They lost everything that you would use in your daily life from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed."

Pillaro said an account has been set up with Arvest Bank to collect monetary donations for the family. Any banking location would be able to accept donations, said Pillaro.

"It's rough when you lose everything you own, and being a police officer, he's out every day trying to protect the citizens," Pillaro said. "I'd just like to find a way to give back to him, for doing what they do."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
