A cold front will linger to the northwest and won’t make much progress to the southeast in the coming days due to a high pressure ridge anchored across the southeast portion of the United States.
The front will sag closer to the area late in the week with an increase in showers around Friday; however each afternoon and evening could see a round of showers and storms with daytime heating.
A stronger, more potent, Fall front could arrive next week… sometime around the 23rd of September.
