LOGAN COUNTY (KFSM) -- The Highway 109 bridge over the Arkansas River, which connects Logan and Johnson Counties, reopened Wednesday (Sept. 14) after a three-vehicle wreck stopped traffic in both directions for about an hour.
Crews at the scene said of the three vehicles, two of them caught on fire. At least six people were taken to area hospitals, according to first responders. Crews attempted to bring in a medical helicopter for one of the patients, but the storms in the area did not make a landing nearby possible.
The wreck happened at around 3 p.m. and the bridge, which goes between Scranton and Clarksville, was reopened around 4 p.m.
