Wolverines Ready For Home Opener

Bentonville West welcomes in Muskogee in the Football Friday Night game of the week

CENTERTON (KFSM) - Bryan Pratt has been coaching long enough to know what to expect on a normal Friday night during football season. Sept. 16 will not be a normal Friday night, though.

Bentonville West will play at home for the first time in school history as they host Muskogee, Okla. in the Football Friday Night game of the week and the Wolverines' coach admitted he doesn't know what to expect.

"It's all kind of up in the air," Pratt said. "We really don't know what it's going to be like. We don't know what kind of crowd we'll have or the support we'll have because we've had two road games. It's exciting to get an opportunity to be at home and play."

"It's really exciting," Bentonville West junior Sebastian Caniglia said. "I can't wait to see our fans coming out and having everybody instead of just some of the parents and some of our friends and I can't wait to see our 'Wild' out there."

The Wolverines dropped their first two games of the season and are now matched against a 2-0 Muskogee team who is looking to make a run in Oklahoma.

"They're very, very athletic," Pratt said of the Roughers. "A team that is big, physical and fast. When you put all of those together, you got a really good football team."

Not matter what happened in their first two games, Caniglia said his team is just focused on what is in front of them.

"Right now we're just kind of playing present," Caniglia said. "That's what coach Jones has taught us and that's all we're going to do. Those two are behind us and we're focused on Muskogee."
