CLARKSVILLE (KFSM) — A Johnson County Sheriff’s Office K9 helped save the life of a man who had passed out during a solo fishing trip Friday (Sept. 16).
The family of a 51-year-old Johnson County man reported that he had not returned after going fishing earlier in the day, according to a department Facebook post. The K-9 team arrived around 11 p.m. to help the Clarksville Police Department search for the man.
K-9 Loki searched several paths around the area for a scent, and finally picked up a trail along a large mud puddle near the man’s vehicle. Loki led deputies to a creek bank and they found the missing man lying in the mud unconscious.
Deputies were able to wake the man after several attempts and help him out of the woods, the release states. He was later taken to a hospital.
The man said he had taken new blood pressure medication and didn’t remember anything after fishing on the creek bank.
