Springdale And Har-Ber Students Create Tribute Video For Kyler Williams

SPRINGDALE (KFSM) -- Students from Springdale and Har-Ber high schools came together to put the final touches on a tribute video for Kyler Williams, the Springdale student who lost his life in a car crash on Saturday (Sept. 24).

Har-Ber television production teacher Travis Sherman said the video will honor the life of Kyler and help bridge the divide between the rivalry of the two schools.

"This is part of the grieving process. It is a little hard right now," Sherman said. "But, this is going to be something great for their family and friends. And, for Springdale as a city to look back on in the future."

The video will be played on Friday night (Sept. 30) during a football game between the two schools.

"We have had this rivalry, Springdale versus Har-Ber. And, to just kind of erase that district boundary, and bring them together, it feels amazing," Sherman said.

The football game will be a red-out, with both schools wearing red, to show support for the Springdale students. Students from both schools were used in the video.

"It is great for us to come together, both schools as one community, to show our love for Kyler," student Krislyn Smith said.

Those who never knew Kyler personally said the video was a way to get to be a part of his wide reach.

"I got to know Kyler Williams from behind the scenes. I got to know him, his personality, and his family. I then took that information and tried to deliver it in the best way possible," student Ashlyn Grace Brother said.

Those who knew Kyler said that he would be proud of their work in the video.

"It felt so amazing. He impacted so many people. He got along with everybody. To see how much he impacted the community for them to come and get together, it touched everybody`s heart," student Juliza Brown.

The video helps bring the community together to honor a student whose life was cut short.

"It kind of erased that division line, and made it one city, one community, one family," Brothers said.
