ROLAND (KFSM) -- Roland Police officers were involved in a high-speed chase Tuesday morning, when they followed two suspects in a vehicle connected to two break-ins for nearly 30 minutes.
The chase began around 7:45 a.m. on PawPaw Road after a driver took off when an officer tried to pull him over, according to David Goode, assistant chief. The vehicle the man was driving was connected to two break-ins that happened on Monday, and there was another female passenger in the car who was also a suspect.
Officers followed the truck along PawPaw Road to the outskirts of Roland and then on to Liberty, where they passed through a school zone traveling between 75-80 mph. Goode said there were several close calls with vehicles trying to turn into Liberty Schools, since the chase happened at the beginning of the school day.
The chase ended near Maple Community, north of Muldrow, Goode said. The truck ran over a log and high centered, stopping the pursuit.
However, both the driver and passenger jumped from the vehicle and took off on foot.
The driver, Chad Dean Chrisman, was apprehended after a short chase on foot. Goode said he is facing felony charges of alluding, running a roadblock, concealing stolen property, property damage and eight counts of second-degree burglary.
The female suspect was able to escape on foot, Goode said.
