LITTLE ROCK (KFSM) — A Little Rock energy company is sending 70 workers to South Carolina to help restore restore the area after Hurricane Matthew hits.

Entergy Arkansas will be sending a travel restoration team of linemen, servicemen, operation coordinators, line supervisors, logistics workers, safety specialists and other staff members to help in the aftermath of the storm. THV 11 reported that Entergy will also freeing 40 contractors whom they have work agreements with, so they provide support in Hurricane Matthew’s aftermath.

Much like Arkansas received aid recovering from the summer’s widespread flooding, every utility company needs outside help when severe weather hits, reported THV 11. Utility companies rely on mutual assistance agreements to help restore power in the wake of a disaster.

Entergy told THV 11 that although they will be sending a large travel restoration team, there are plenty of crew members remaining behind to maintain the company’s service.
