LITTLE ROCK (KFSM) --  Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge hosted the 2016 Outstanding Law Enforcement Officers Of The Year Awards.

The two-day summit was held in Little Rock this week. In addition to training and seminars in all aspects of law enforcement, Rutledge handed out awards to officers and deputies across the state.

County Officers Of The Year in the northwest region include: Cpt. Tim Cook with the Bella Vista Police Department, Alma Police Chief Russell White, Franklin County school resource officer Tim Culver, Crpl. Jacob Shook with the Johnson County Sheirff's Department, Logan County Wildlife Officer Scott Basham, Madison County Cpt. Clay Rowland, Sebastian County Sheriff Bill Hollenbeck and Washington County Sgt. Oscar Henson.

Also honored was fallen Sebastian County Deputy Cpl. Bill Cooper. Cooper was shot in the line of duty in the summer of 2016.

"It's been a very hard summer. It's very hard to put into words, but it is very humbling to receive an award," Hollenbeck said. "Even more so I think the dedication of all the awards we get goes to the heroes like Bill Cooper and his wife."
