CEDARVILLE (KFSM) — A former Cedarville Middle School principal and Van Buren School District teacher was facing a contributing to the delinquency of a minor charge Saturday (Oct. 8) after he was arrested Thursday for having an inappropriate relationship with a female student, according to court records.
Court records show Christopher Lee Ross, 27, was arrested after he had started texting and chatting with a Van Buren student in July and encouraged her to sneak out of her house one night.
He then picked her up and they drove around together, according to court records. At one point, Ross grabbed the victim and kissed her, then dropped her off back at her house, court records state.
Crawford County Prosecutor Marc McCune said Ross had been a teacher at Van Buren schools at one point before becoming Cedarville Middle School’s principal.
The Cedarville School District confirmed to 5NEWS on Aug. 12 that Ross had resigned as principal that week.
Ross bonded out of jail on $1,300 bond, according to the Crawford County Jail.
