FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)-  The No.16 ranked Razorbacks put up a hard fight against SEC West rival No.1 Alabama, but the Crimson Tide came away with a win 49-30 in Fayetteville.

The last time the Razorbacks (4-2, 0-2) beat the Crimson Tide was 10-years ago, but with the Hogs off the one of their best starts in years, they were ready to challenge the number-one team in the nation.

Alabama wasted no time, starting off fast in the first quarter. Jalen Hurts scored two rushing touchdowns early early in the first, giving the Crimson Tide a commanding 14-0 lead. The freshman went on to lead Alabama’s (6-0, 2-0) destructive offense. He accounted for four touchdowns and 253 yards passing Saturday night.

The Crimson Tide’s defensive also lit up the scoreboard in Razorback Stadium. Linebacker time Williams and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick both scored defensive touchdowns in the road victory. Arkansas turned the ball over five times against Alabama.

Despite the loss Arkansas’ quarterback Austin Allen had a career night. He completed 25-of-48 passes for 400 yards and three touchdowns for the Hogs, but he also threw three interceptions. Arkansas ended the day with 473 total yards of offense.

Arkansas will take on Ole Miss next at home on October the 15th.
