CRAWFORD COUNTY (KFMS) — The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office has launched a murder investigation after a man’s body was found in the rubble of mobile home after a fire on Monday morning (Oct. 10).

During a Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 12) press conference, the department said they are looking for Jeremy Dwight Brake as a suspect in the investigation. Brake, 37, from the Crawford County area, is about 5′ 8″ and 148 pounds and has blonde hair and blue eyes.

He contacted the sheriff’s department on Wednesday night and was taken into custody.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department issued a warrant for his arrest for first degree murder, they announced during the press conference. He was considered “armed and dangerous.”

The sheriff’s office began investigating the man’s death as a homicide after the Arkansas State Crime Lab ruled his death as foul play, officials said during the conference.
