Fort Smith Police Searching For Suspect Passing Counterfeit Bills

FORT SMITH (KFSM) — The Fort Smith Police Department is searching for a man who was accused of trying to pass counterfeit bills at a Fort Smith business last month.

The suspect entered a business in the 6300 block of Rogers Avenue on Sept. 25 around 8 p.m. and asked a clerk if she could break a $100 bill, according to a department press release. The clerk realized the bill was a counterfeit and informed the man, so he grabbed the bill and left the store.

He left the store in a black Lexus and turned east on Rogers Avenue, the release states. He is described as a white male between the ages of 35-45.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fort Smith Police Department at 479-709-5100 or dial 78-CRIME.
