FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — Fayetteville and Fort Smith Police collaborated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to arrest 14 people in a prostitution bust early Saturday (Oct. 15), according to Fayetteville police.
Sgt. Craig Stout said the arrests were made at a hotel in Fayetteville near Interstate 49. Nine women were arrested on suspicion of prostitution and five men were arrested on suspicion of promoting prostitution, according to Stour. The suspects are mostly from the Fort Smith and Fayetteville area, but two are from Missouri.
According to police records, undercover officers used text messaging to arrange sexual favors from the women. As the women arrived, the officers took them into custody. In some cases, men who were in the vehicles with the women were also arrested.
