NASHVILLE, TENN. (KFSM) – It had happened just twice in school history but Moses Kingsley completed the hat trick as the Arkansas senior was voted the SEC men’s basketball preseason player of the year by the media at the league’s media day.

Kingsley was named to both the All-SEC second team and SEC All-Defensive team last season. Kingsley joins Joe Johnson (2000-01) and Ronnie Brewer (2005-06) as the only Razorbacks voted to that honor.

The senior center was second on the team averaging 16 points a game and recorded 16 double-doubles. Kingsley pulled down nine rebounds per contest while blocking 76 shots in 32 games.

Kingsley was the only Razorback voted to the preseason All-SEC teams but the league’s second team had a bit of Arkansas flair. Florida guard Kevaughn Allen (North Little Rock) and Kentucky freshman Malik Monk (Bentonville) were voted to the preseason second team.

Arkansas was projected to finish fifth in the SEC while defending conference champion Kentucky was voted in the top spot. Florida, Texas A&M and Georgia were voted to finish second through fourth respectively.

Arkansas tips off the season on Nov. 11 vs Fort Wayne.
