FORT SMITH (KFSM) — Three OG&E linemen from Fort Smith were named the hurtman rescue category world champions at the 33rd Annual International Lineman’s Rodeo in Overland Park, Kansas last weekend (Oct. 15-16).

Terry Duvall, Dustin White and Jim Staton were crowned champions and also secured second place among all divisions. The divisions include investor owned utilities, municipalities, contractors, rural electric coops and military. They also placed as the 10th fastest climber team, sixth in the transformer change out category and second in the overall category for the investor owned utilities division.

More than 200 teams from across the country participated in the competition. The events included pole climbing, hurtman rescue and mystery event challenges. Four teams and three apprentices represented OG&E at the event.
