BENTONVILLE (KFSM) -- A mid-century building in downtown Bentonville has been transformed into an event space.

First the building had been the home of Burger Motor Company, then a printing house for the Benton County Daily Record and now it is an event space called Record.

“We get to experience something urban downtown, fun without having to change it," Jordan Garner said. "There is definitely a time and a place to be able to build with the infrastructure that we have and highlight it."

Garner is with Rope Swing Hospitality Group and said their goal is to keep the historical landscape of the downtown area.

“When you walk around you see all the old original brick, beautiful, old, original domed ceiling,” Garner said.

Garner hopes this will encourage even more growth and more people to spend time downtown.

“Having an event space downtown would be beneficial for all downtown businesses, building the walkability nature, and getting people to visit and see all of the awesome downtown trails we have got going,” she said.

This week, street artist Edgar Saner from Mexico City will begin painting a mural on the east side of the building.

Made By Few will be the first event held at Record later this week. They will also be hosting the International Mountain Bicycling Association World Summit in November.
