ROGERS (KFSM) -- After spending a little over a year undergoing major renovations, Lake Atalanta will be re-opened to the public this Saturday.
The newly renovated park has nearby residents excited to get inside and enjoy the new trails.
Resident Shana Olinger said they are both excited about the parks re-opening.
"Well I'm really excited to see the park open up." said Olinger. "I only live a couple minutes from here, so it's easy just to drive over and park and walk or bike from my house where I keep my bike at my husband's office."
Paula Difani, another resident, said the park is very convenient. It's located less than a mile from downtown Rogers.
"This is the first closest place other than going out towards Hobbs Park that we can walk together and it's new and its beautiful," Difani said.
Store owners in the area said they are hopeful that the park will increase foot traffic at their stores.
"It would create a lot more business and things are up and coming in our community," said Shonna Brown, owner of Downtown Dawgs.
The ribbon-cutting celebration for Lake Atalanta's grand re-opening will be Saturday Oct. 29 from 9:30 a.m to 1 p.m.
