The fact that summer has been trying to over stay its welcome hasn’t stopped many of you from enjoying all of the fall festivities!
From pumpkins and goats to corn mazes and corn cannons, Sean Bailey takes us to the farm in this week’s Adventure Arkansas!
Since 2000, the Wild Things Farm in Pocola, OK has been welcoming families for all kinds of fall fun!
To explore their entire 90 acre farm, you and your family can choose between the choo choo train or hitch a ride on the hay ride!
One of the first stops Tyler Watson and his family made was to the petting zoo.
“So far I think it’s been the ponies,” said Watson. “He really likes the ponies. He also liked the train ride. There’s a lot of things for him to do. We’ve just covered a little bit of ground so far so we will see what else we can get to."
The Wild Things Farm lives up to its name with plenty of wild things for you to feed. Even from the ground you can send up food via a conveyor belt system for the trail for the goats to enjoy.
And your kids can hang out with these slightly furrier kids who are not at all camera shy.
Owner Cathie Greene says one of the favorites involves something a little steeper.
"I will say probably 75% of the guests that visit us say the slide is the favorite,” said Greene.
And the farm’s best pumpkin crop slides on display too.
"We had the best crop we have ever had. I actually got sick of picking pumpkins."
You can taste their crop in the pumpkin pies they sell as well.
Then of course there are multiple forms of fun with corn from the corn maze to the corn cannon there’s always a family friendly vibe for everyone.
"We try to keep our things family friendly even our night maze we do not haunt it and families come out and have a great time," said Greene.
Cathie adds that it is a great feeling to see families get excited over the farm.
"I think it’s pretty incredible that they have so many things for the kids,” said Watson. “It gives them something to get outdoors and pet the animals. I think that’s something more families need to do."
The Fall fun lasts until November 6th and admission is $10. They also have a Christmas event with a lighted hay ride in December.
