Halloween Guide 2016: Family Friendly Events In River Valley And Northwest Arkansas

Halloween is coming up on Monday (Oct. 31) this year, and several groups throughout the area are hosting events to celebrate.

Here’s a list of free, family friendly Halloween events going on in the area. If we’ve missed an event, let us know.

Alma

Halloween Takeover – Monday (Oct. 31)

Beyond Church will be hosting a Disney themed Trick-or-Treating event.

Bella Vista

Spooktacular – Sunday (Oct. 30) 

The Bella Vista library will be hosting Halloween festivities from 2-4 p.m.

Bentonville 

Costumes, Candy & Cops Carnival – Friday (Oct. 28)

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a carnival with an outdoor movie, food and games beginning at 5 p.m. at the Benton County Sheriff’s office parking lot.

Trick or Treat on the Square – Saturday (Oct. 29) 

Trick-or-Treating festivities will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the final Bentonville Farmers Market of the season.

Centerton

Centerton FOP Trunk or Treat – Saturday (Oct. 29) 

There will be a trunk-or-treating event at the Bentonville West High School from 5-9 p.m. Vehicle entry is $5 per car to enter the show and give out candy.

Elkins

Fall Festival – Saturday (Oct. 29)

The Elkins Fall Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lawn in front of the primary and elementary schools. The event will have a cake walk, bean bag toss, bounce house and several other games. Costumes are welcome but not required.

Fayetteville

Trick or Treat on the Square – Monday (Oct. 31)

Trick-or-Treaters will be able to participate in the event at the downtown Fayetteville Square from 3-5 p.m.

Fort Smith

Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade & Trick-or-Treating – Saturday (Oct. 29)

The event will be  at the Fort Smith Farmers Market from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event is open to the hole family, including pets. There will be a pet parade starting at 11 a.m.

Trunk or TreatSaturday (Oct. 29)

Massard Missionary Baptist Church is hosting a trunk or treat event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Ghouls On Garrison – Monday (Oct. 31)

The businesses in Downtown Fort Smith along Garrison Avenue will be handing out candy from 5:30-7:30 p.m. A small children’s costume contest will be held at 7:45 p.m.

Greenwood

Halloween Trail – Monday (Oct. 31)

The city and Greenwood High School will be passing out treats along the Greenwood Walking Trail from 5-8 p.m.

Kibler

Superhero Hayride –  Friday (Oct. 28)

Kibler Baptist Church is hosting a free family friendly hayride beginning at 7 p.m.

Prairie Grove

Trunk or Treat – Saturday (Oct. 29)

The Prairie Grove Police Department will be hosting a trunk or treat event from 4-7:30 p.m. at Prairie Grove Battlefield Park.

Poteau 

Downtown Trick or Treat WalkFriday (Oct. 28)

Trick-or-Treaters can enjoy Halloween festivities from 3:30-5 p.m. in Downtown Poteau.

Trails of Treats and Thrills – Saturday (Oct. 29)

The Halloween festivities will be at Lake Wister State Park from 4-7 p.m.

Citywide Trick or Treat – Monday (Oct. 31)

The citywide Trick-or-Treating will be Monday night.

Rogers

American Legion Community Spooktacular – Saturday (Oct. 29)

From 4-6 p.m. the American Legion will be hosting a free event, that includes a costume contest and door prizes.

Bible Walk and Fall Festival – Saturday (Oct. 29) 

The First Church of the Nazarene will host a free festival, as well as a chili supper fundraiser from 5-7:30 p.m.

Goblin Parade – Monday (Oct. 31)

Downtown Rogers businesses will be handing out treats from 3:30-5:30 p.m. A Goblin Parade will begin at 3:30 p.m. and they are asking participants to line up at Frisco Park.

Sallisaw 

Halloween on Elm Street – Monday (Oct. 31) 

From 5-8 p.m. Trick-or-Treaters can enjoy Halloween festivities along Downtown Elm Street.

Siloam Springs

New Life Church Trunk or Treat – Sunday (Oct. 31) 

New Life Church will be hosting a trunk or treat event from 6-8 p.m.

Springdale

Streetfest – Thursday (Oct. 27)

The Jones Center will be having a fall festival from 6-8 p.m.

Trunk or Treat – Saturday (Oct. 29)

The Springdale Police Department will be holding a trunk or treat event from 4-6 p.m. at the station.

Trunk or Treat – Sunday (Oct. 30)

The FUMC Children’s Ministry will be holding a trunk or treat event from 4-6 p.m. at 206 W Johnson Ave.

Van Buren 

Momentum Church Trunk or Treat – Monday (Oct. 31)

Momentum Church at 4810 Alma Hwy. will be hosting an event from 6:30-8 p.m.
