FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — The Fayetteville Police Department released more information Monday (Nov. 7) about a hit-and-run collision that left one person dead.

The hit-and-run was reported near Crossover Road and Zion Road around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Sgt. Craig Stout said the collision involved two people on a scooter and a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup.

Hailey King, 18, of Fayetteville and Osmin Gutierrez, 20, of Springdale were on the scooter going southbound on Crossover when they were hit from behind by the pickup that then left the scene, Stout said. The driver parkced the pickup at an apartment complex and fled on foot, according to police.

One of the people who was on the scooter was found near Crossover Road and Randal Place while the other was found on Zion Road, Stout said.

King and Gutierrez were transported to the hospital where King later died, while Gutierrez suffered life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Police are searching for Sergio Rodriguez, 33, as a person of interest in the case.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Rodriguez, or has knowledge about this collision is urged to contact the Fayetteville Police Department at (479) 587-3555.
