LEFLORE COUNTY (KFSM) — An Oklahoma man was killed when he was accidentally run over by a semi truck early on Tuesday morning (Nov. 8).
Claud Hale, 45, of Stigler, died after suffering massive injuries to his head and body, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
A semi driver told OHP he came to a parking lot on a property about 1.5 miles south of Spiro shortly before 6 a.m. and noticed that the truck was running, but not hooked up to the load. He told troopers that he looked around for Hale, but didn’t spot him, so he thought Hale had gone inside a building.
However, the driver said Hale was beneath the truck, greasing the drive train.
The driver said he got into the truck and backed it up to hook it to the trailer, the report states. Afterward, he realized he had run over Hale.
Hale’s body was taken to Mallory and Martin Funeral Home in Spiro.
