Hillary Clinton has taken the stage to deliver the most painful and potentially final, big speech of her political career on Wednesday after her stunning defeat to Donald Trump in the presidential race.

Speaking to a room of bleary-eyed aides and supporters who greeted with a standing ovation, Hillary Clinton is giving what possibly could be the most difficult speech of her life.

“I’m sorry that we did not win this election for the values we share and the visions we hold,” she began. “But I feel pride and gratitude … You represent the best of America.”

“This is painful, and it will be for a long time,” Clinton said. “But our campaign was never about one person or one election, it was about the country we love.”

“Let’s do all we can to keep advances the causes and values we all hold dear,” Clinton said. She added that her campaign has spent over a year bringing together people all over the country to spread the word that “America is big enough for everyone.”

Clinton thanked her supporters and her running mate Tim Kaine. “It gives me great hope and comfort” to know Kaine will represent Virginia in the Senate.

Then, she thanked President Obama and the first lady: “Our country owes you an enormous bit of debt and gratitude.”

Clinton also thanked her family and the volunteers of her campaign around the country. “You poured your hearts into this campaign,” she said.

“You were the best campaign anybody could have ever expected or wanted,” Clinton added.

She said that although she was not able to shatter the glass ceiling, but she said she has hope that it will happen one day soon.
