FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- Trane Custom Products in Fort Smith presented a memorial on Wednesday (Nov. 9) to honor veterans of the Vietnam War.

Workers created the stainless steel memorial using the equipment from inside the plant. The font on the memorial matches the same lettering that is on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D. C.

The plant said they hope the memorial serves as a place of reflection.

"They like having events just like this," plant manager Phil Farr said. "It gives them the opportunity to step outside the plant, reflect on history and things that go into making this country what it is."

The Fort Smith Marine Corps League was at the event to conduct a flag ceremony.
