SEBASTIAN COUNTY (KFSM) —  A Hartford man has been sentenced to 80 years in prison after being convicted Wednesday (Nov. 9) of felony first-degree murder.

Twelve jurors found Aaron Cutsinger, 26, guilty of charges that stem from the death of his former girlfriend, Leanora Rippy, 23, as well as the attempted murder of Rippy’s toddler son.

Sebastian County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Shue said Cutsinger was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the first-degree murder charge, 30 years for first-degree attempted murder, and 10 years for committing felonies in the presence of a child.

He will be eligible for parole in 48 years.

Saturday, Sept. 19, a couple driving in the area of Observatory and Sugarloaf Roads called 9-1-1 after finding the toddler walking naked and alone along the road.

Multiple agencies arrived at the scene and found Rippy’s body,  not far from where her son was found. The child was taken into DHS custody.

Cutsinger ran over Rippy and her son, who was 2 at the time, at least three times, an affidavit states.
