FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- The Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium glowed a cheery green on Thursday night (Nov. 10) in honor of our nation's veterans.

The stadium was lit up with green light as part of the Green Light a Vet program. The initiative encourages people to change a light to green to help start a conversations about recognizing veterans for their service. Anyone can switch out an outdoor light bulb to green to join in.

Jeff Long, Arkansas athletic director, said our veteran's commitment and sacrifice is the reason why we have the freedoms we have today.

The University of Arkansas is hoping to join the Green Light a Vet initiative by encouraging people to stop by the green stadium, snap a picture and post it to social media using "#GreenLightAVet" to show appreciation for veterans' service.
