LSU Dominates Arkansas To Win Back Boot

LSU Rushing Attack Too Much For Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)–The last time Arkansas won three straight games against LSU was 1927-29. That streak won’t be matched this year, as the Tigers (6-3, 4-2) strangled the Razorbacks (6-4, 2-4) in a 38-10 win.

Leonard Fournette got the Tigers  off to a fast start, capping off a scoring drive with a five yard run. It marked the first time that LSU scored on its opening drive this season. The teams traded punts until Austin Allen threw an interception to Donnie Alexander. After one quarter, the Tigers led by a touchdown.

Fournette punched in his second score on the very first play of the second quarter to give LSU a 14 point advantage. It only took a couple more minutes (and another unproductive drive by the Razorbacks) for Derrius Guice to find the endzone. Much like the Auburn blowout, the Tigers led 21-0 just 20 minutes into the game.

Arkansas finally struck on a third and long, as Allen found Dominique Reed for a 44 yard touchdown, cutting into the deficit. LSU led 21-7 at halftime, outgaining Arkansas 222 to 135. But a Fournette fumble on the opening drive of the second half led to Rawleigh Williams eclipsing 1000 yards and an Adam McFain 24 yard field goal.

LSU went back to the ground game and much like the first quarter, found success quickly. Guice had a long run to spark the drive, and Fournette capped it off with his third touchdown to put the Tigers up 28-10. The two running backs combined for five touchdowns and over 330 yards.

The Hogs close out the season with a two game road trip at Mississippi State (November 19, 6PM) and Missouri (November 25, 1:30PM).
