Man Killed By Train In Jonesboro After Car Runs Off Road

JONESBORO (KFSM) — A man was killed Sunday morning (Nov. 13) after authorities said  his car was hit by a train in Jonesboro.

According to an Arkansas State Police report, Chris Cornell, 32, was driving north on Interstate 555 just before 8 a.m. when his car ran off the bridge at the Union Pacific Railroad overpass. Cornell’s car struck a pole and partially stopped on the railroad tracks; he was then hit by the train, according to the report.

Cornell was pronounced dead at the scene.
