FORT SMITH (KFSM) — One of the largest churches in the country announced plans for a Fort Smith campus Sunday (Nov. 13).

TheBOD.Church Fort Smith voted to become the 26th Life.Church campus nationwide and the first in Arkansas.

Life.Church, which was founded in 1996 by senior pastor Craig Groeschel, is based in Oklahoma City and will now have campuses in eight states including Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas.

Each location has its own campus pastor and staff, but gets video teaching from Groeschel via satellite.

TheBOD has been a “network church” with Life.Church since its inception, using video messages from Groeschel and other resources free of charge.

Converting to a Life.Church campus will provide funding for more full-time staff members and outreach activities.

“We believe this could be the ground floor for what God wants to do in this region of the country,” Groeschel said.

TheBOD.Church founding pastor Johnny Roberts will serve as campus pastor for Life.Church Fort Smith.

The transition will start immediately, with an official launch on Sunday, December 4.

TheBOD’s original location will continue to operate in Roland as a Life.Church network church.
