SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — Hogeye Marathon organizers announced Monday (Nov. 14) the marathon will be moving from Fayetteville to Springdale in 2017.
The race was also moved up by a day from Sunday to Saturday, April 8, 2017, and got a new presenting sponsor with Tyson Foods.
At its new location, the marathon will start and finish on Emma Avenue in downtown Springdale. Runners will stay mostly in Springdale, but they will also go through parts of Johnson and Fayetteville.
Since its start in 1977, the marathon has grown to more than 2,000 runners each year. The event includes a 26.2-miles marathon, half-marathon, 5K run/walk, children’s marathon and four-person relay.
