LEFLORE COUNTY (KFSM) — The body of a young man who drowned in a rock quarry has been recovered, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
First-responders recovered the body of 21-year-old Jacob Lewis from the quarry in the area of Short Mountain shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Lewis died while trying to swim across the quarry.
Police tell 5News the body sunk 19 feet and dragging operations were used to recover it.
