FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)–Jalen Barford’s most balanced game led Arkansas to a slim 71-67 victory over UT Arlington. The junior college transfer posted 17 points on 6/12 shooting, 6 rebounds and 2 assists, as the Razorbacks overcame a 43-32 halftime deficit.

Anton Beard (12 points) and Dusty Hannahs (11 points) were the only other players in double figures. The Razorbacks shot just 40% on the night and only 33% from behind the arc. But a second half opening 20-2 run put Arkansas in control of a game that went back and forth for the last ten minutes.

Even though the Hogs did get into foul trouble (Daryl Macon, Dustin Thomas and Moses Kingsley all had 4), UT Arlington made just 9 of 12 free throws. On the other hand, Mike Anderson got exactly what he wanted: production at the charity stripe.  Arkansas was 24 of 32 from the line and all nine players that saw time hit at least one free throw.

With the close win, Arkansas improves to 3-0 prior to a Tuesday night trip to Minnesota.
