GREENLAND (KFSM) — A Greenland High School student who was arrested Monday  (Nov. 21) in connection with a bomb scare that happened at the school he attends, has been released from the Washington County Detention Center.

Wesley Wayne Crow, 18, of Greenland faces felony first-degree terroristic threatening and misdemeanor communicating a false alarm after he reportedly gave his ex-girlfriend a “suspicious package” in the hallway at the school. He was arrested shortly after the girl reported the matter.

He was released Tuesday (Nov. 22) about 3:15 p.m. on a $2,500 bond, and is set to appear in court Monday morning (Nov. 28).

After receiving the package, Crow’s ex-girlfriend reported the incident to police. She said the “suspicious package” was a taped, wadded Walmart sack containing wrapped wires, screws and nails, and when she looked inside the sack, the items looked like a bomb, an arrest report states.

Additionally, the package contained notes the two wrote each other while dating, as well as her jewelry she left in his possession, police say.

According to police, Crow’s mother made a comment about the girl’s personality, which sparked an idea for Crow on how to return her items after their breakup.

Crow told police his mother said his ex-girlfriend was “missing some screws” and so he was “giving them (the screws) back to her.”

After x-raying the package, police deemed the matter as a false alarm.
