Cox Troubleshooting: How To Fix Audio Issues

For Cox viewers who cannot get the 5NEWS audio feed, here’s how to fix the problem:

On small NON-DVR boxes

  1. Press the blue menu button near the top of the remote (button also says COX)
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Language Options
  4. Audio Language
  5. Choose “Primary”

On most DVR boxes

  1. Press the “Menu” button on the remote two times. This should open the “General Settings” menu
  2. Language
  3. Audio
  4. Choose “Primary”

For COX CONTOUR boxes (instructions from COX website)

  1. Press the Settings button on the remote
  2. Highlight Audio and Video
  3. Audio Settings
  4. Audio Language
  5. Choose “Primary”

The “TV Support” page on the COX website also has instructions as to how to fix audio issues.
