FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — The city of Fayetteville celebrated two newly completed bike paths Monday (Nov. 28).

Stubblefield Bikeway and Veterans Affairs trails were completed this year and ribbon cutting ceremony for the trails was held at the VA campus at 2 p.m.

The Veterans Affairs trail was planned in response to several requests from citizens and business owners, and it provides a faster and safer route from North Street to the Evelyn Hills Shopping Center, according to a city press release. The Veterans Health Care System partnered with the city to develop the 1/2-mile trail.

The Stubblefield Bikeway is a 1.2-mile-long path connecting commercial centers and neighborhoods along North College Avenue to the Mud Creek Trail.
