FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — Two cases of mumps have been confirmed and several others are being investigated at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, according to a letter sent to students from the Arkansas Department of Health.

The ADH said they are working closely with the University of Arkansas officials to stop the spreading of mumps and will be monitoring the situation closely. If the outbreak continues, they will take the additional steps needed.

Symptoms of the mumps include fever, headache, muscle aches, tiredness and loss of appetite.
