SEBASTIAN COUNTY (KFSM) — The man who shot and killed Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Bill Cooper was transported from the Sebastian County Detention Center early Thursday morning (Dec. 1 ).
5NEWS was on the scene as Billy Monroe Jones was sent to the Ouachita River Unit, located in Malvern, Arkansas. According to their website, almost all inmates in the state initially start at this facility and only stay for a few days, to a few weeks to be classified and then moved on to a more permanent facility.
Jones pleaded guilty to capital murder and 10 counts of attempted capital murder, as well as charges of felon in possession of a firearm, killing or injuring animals used by law enforcement and habitual crime.
As part of the plea deal, Jones will not be eligible for parole, but he also will not receive the death penalty.

There has not been a more obvious case for the death penalty around here in years. Fry him up!
