van-buren-phone-theft-suspectsVAN BUREN (KFSM) — Police are searching for two suspects in an iPhone theft from a Van Buren Walmart.

A couple reported that one of them set their phone down on the counter while checking out at Walmart, and when they returned for it, the phone was missing, according to a department Facebook post. The victim told officers that she tried calling her phone, and the suspects picked up.

The female suspect asked for a reward to return the phone, and the victim said there wasn’t one. Then, the victim reported that the man said, “Well the phone is mine then!” and started yelling racial slurs at the victim.

Surveillance footage shows the pair going to the register after the victim. The woman picked up the phone and put it in her purse before leaving the store.

Anyone with information about either suspect is urged to contact the Van Buren Police Department at 479-474-1234.
