Rogers Man Arrested After Allegedly Striking Another Man With Hammer

BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) — A Rogers man was arrested after allegedly striking another man in the head with a hammer, according to Benton County Public Information Officer Keshia Guyll.

Daniel Clark is charged with battery in the first degree and tampering with physical evidence after he allegedly struck Michael Dearment in the head with a hammer and discarding it in a vacant lot. The 21-year-old is being held on $100,000 bond at the Benton County Jail.

Clark’s girlfriend, Serena Murdock, is also being charged with tampering physical evidence and accomplice to commit battery in the first degree. The 18-year-old has bonded out of jail on a $20,000 bond.

According to officials, Murdock is the daughter of Dearment’s girlfriend and the incident was called in as a disturbance.

Benton County Detectives said the victim was air-lifted to a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri and his condition is unknown at this time.

Clark and Murdock will be arraigned in the Benton County Circuit Court on January 17.
