VAN BUREN (KFSM) -- Police cars, firetrucks, floats and more packed Main Street in Van Buren for its annual Christmas parade on Saturday evening (Dec. 10).

Hundreds of people attended and Santa Claus was even there to give out candy to the children.

"It's gotten bigger, and bigger, and bigger, and I love that," said local Leona Reed who has been coming to the parade her entire life, "...everything we can do for downtown Van Buren is the best thing we can do."

Several downtown merchants participated in the Old Town Van Buren Christmas Open House, and many businesses extended their hours for people to come by and shop, or stop and visit, after the parade.

The parade was sponsored by The Old Town Merchants Association.

It began at 14th Street and Main Street, headed toward downtown, and ended at the Crawford County Courthouse.
