One Suspect On The Run, One Arrested Following Pursuit In Tontitown

TONTITOWN (KFSM) — One man was arrested and one was on the run following a pursuit early Monday morning (Dec. 12) in Tontitown.

According to police, an officer came across a silver colored Chevrolet pickup. Police said the truck was in an area where there have been a lot of thefts in the past. After a short conversation with the occupants in the truck, the suspects sped away and a pursuit ensued, police said.

The occupants then fled on foot after the truck became disabled in the woods near the Johnson Exit on I-49.

Officers quickly searched the area and are still looking for a person of interest by the name of Odell Rhodes.

One suspect, Michael Cowan, was arrested after fleeing, police said.

Officers searched the truck and confirmed it was stolen out of the City of Rogers. Several items commonly used for breaking and entering were found in the truck, as well as drug paraphernalia.

Officers and deputies of the Elm Springs Police Department, Johnson Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted Tontitown Police in the pursuit.
