FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- The first Broadway series performance since the Walton Arts Center reopened debuted on Tuesday (Dec. 13).

The Book of Mormon will hold a total of eight musical performances through Sunday (Dec. 18).

The Walton Arts Center reopened on Nov. 19 after undergoing major renovations, which included additional backstage space.

Scott Galbraith, vice president of programming, said that space helped in making the show possible.

"We would need a shoehorn to get it in previously," Galbraith said. "It's much easier now. It's still tight, but it's much better."

Lottery drawings will be held prior to every performance to give people a chance to snag a $25 ticket.

"It is largely sold out. Every once and awhile there's an occasional ticket that may be turned back to us, so do check in for people who are interested," Galbraith said. "There's a lottery two hours before every performance. We open the building two and a half hours before each performance just to make sure there are tickets available at all price ranges."
