Razorbacks Shutout Texas A&M To End Regular Season

Arkansas shuts out Texas A&M 8-0 Sunday to win the series.

COLLEGE STATION (KFSM)- Arkansas baseball dominated Texas A&M in the series finale winning 8-0, claiming the series win. With the victory Sunday the Diamond Hogs secured a first-round bye in the SEC tournament. Arkansas closes out the regular season 39-15 overall and 18-11 in conference play.

Arkansas brought a strong offensive performance to the field Sunday. Chad Spanberger smashed a career-high two home runs in the victory and finished the day 2-for-5 at the plate with two runs and two RBI’s. After this weekend Spanberger has 14 homers on the year, which puts him in the top five of the conference.

With the offense rolling Blaine Knight and Kevin Kopps took care of the defense. Knight threw six shutout innings against the Aggies and allowed just three hits. Kopps finished up the rest of the game, still allowing no runs and just two hits, earning him the save.

Arkansas will play the first game of the SEC tournament on Wednesday their opponent is to be determined.
