GRAVETTE (KFSM) — Fire and emergency crews responded to a commercial building fire in Gravette on Friday (May 26), according to Benton County dispatch.

The fire is in the 2000 block of Timlake Road at D&B Litter Service. Crews were dispatched to the area at about 11:45 a.m.

The building stores and processes chicken litter. There is also a store and vehicle storage inside the building.

The owners will be working with the fire investigators to determine the cause of the fire.

“Not so much the heat but the humidity adds to the heat-stress level and so we have to have shorter work cycles per fire fighters, which means more fire fighters to work through to accomplish our tasks,” said Eric Smith, assistant director of fire services in Benton County.

There were no injuries to civilians or fire fighters. There is no word on the extent of the damage to the structure.
