FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- Fort Smith police said a Van Buren man has been identified as the suspect in an armed robbery at the Pic-N-Tote on Phoenix Avenue on Tuesday night (June 6) around 9 p.m.

Marcus Jackie Sharp, 27, of Van Buren, is facing charges of aggravated robbery, fleeing apprehension, theft by receiving and parole violation.

Sharp walked into the store just before 9 p.m. and then jumped the counter, showed a handgun and demanded money from the register, according to a report from the Fort Smith Police Department.

"He was behind the register before we knew it. 'Don't move,' that's all he said. He was in and out in probably like 30 seconds,'" said store Clerk Tiffany Wofford.

After getting the money he took off on a motorcycle heading east on Phoenix Avenue, the report states. He was wearing a blue Luche Libre mask.

After a short pursuit with police the suspect lost control of his motorcycle and crashed at Greenwood Avenue and South S Street.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital, but was released and taken to the Sebastian County Detention Center, the report states. He is being held with no bond.

Two employees were working the store at the time of the robbery, but neither was hurt.

No word on how much money was taken but police are still investigating.

The release states the motorcycle had been reported stolen out of Russellville.
