ROGERS (KFSM) — Police are investigating a fatal accident at the intersection of W. Walnut Street and 28th Street where a car hit a pedestrian.
It happened Saturday (Aug. 12) around 5:50 a.m.
William Garrett, 61, was crossing Walnut at the crosswalk going southbound. According to a release from Rogers police, he was hit by Samantha Fitchue, who was driving a Hyundai Elantra in the eastbound outside lane of 28th street.
The registered owner of the Elantra is Angela Fitchue, 29.
Samantha Fitchue and her passenger told police the light was green, and they did not see Garrett before the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
