FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — Residents in the east side of Fayetteville were unable to use landlines to call 911 for help Tuesday (Nov. 7).

 

Timeline:

1:00 p.m.

A fiber has been cut in the area of East Huntsville Road and South Cunningham Lane, causing residents east of the intersection to not have landline phone service.

If you have an emergency, call 911 using a cell phone.

Police said AT&T is working on resolving the issue.

2:35 p.m.

An official quote from AT&T states, “Due to a fiber cut by contractors doing work for another company, some customers in the east Fayetteville area may be experiencing issues with their wireline service. Our technicians are on-site and working diligently to repair the damage and restore service. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause”.

An official quote from AT&T states, “UPDATE: Service has been restored for customers in the East Fayetteville area who were affected by a fiber cut earlier today”.
