Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Boxley Avenue at about 8 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 17) for reports of gunshots.

The victim told police that Galyean and Martinez came to his house to sell him a handgun, according to the affidavit. The document states that after the victim bragged about having $2,200 from a settlement, Galyean and Martinez left the house.

They later returned and asked the victim if he wanted to smoke a blunt. Galyean instead reached inside his jacket and pulled out a gun, the affidavit states. He pointed the gun in the victim's face and asked for all of the money. They began to fight and the victim was shot in the back, according to the affidavit.

The victim said he tried to defend himself by throwing punches and getting away. He said he heard another shot fired inside his house and heard Galyean yell "I'm going to kill you," according to the affidavit.

The affidavit states the victim later ran to his neighbors for help and both suspects fled on foot.

The victim was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Galyean is now facing charges of aggravated assault, aggravated robbery and felon in possession of a firearm.

Martinez was arrested for aggravated assault, aggravated robbery and first-degree battery.

Both men were being held Friday (Jan. 19) at the Washington County Detention Center on bonds of $250,000.
