ROGERS, Ark. (KFSM) — The Rogers Fire Department helped the Beaver Lake Fire Department respond to a structure fire in Prairie Creek Wednesday (April 3).
The fire broke out in a detached garage at the BLFD Deputy Chief’s home in the 8600 block of Wild Cherry Dr. in Prairie Creek.
“Deputy chief is grateful his family is OK and for the most part, his house was saved. Big thanks to Rogers Fire Department who got on scene quickly,” said BLFD Chief John Whisenant.
Whisenant said the Deputy Chief’s son called 911 and then called his dad, who was on duty in Bella Vista, where he works full time. There were no injuries and the fire was able to be contained.
Whisenant urged residents to remember to always consider the weather when burning. He also said to call in a controlled burn to the city or county prior to burning.
It is unknown at this time what caused the fire.
