Body found in Hot Springs woods identified as 68-year-old woman

A man walking along E. Grand Ave. and N. Frontage Road told police he went into the woods after smelling a strong odor and found a body.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — On Wednesday, Sept. 1, a man walking along E. Grand Ave. and N. Frontage Road told police he went into the woods after smelling a strong odor and found a body, police said in a press release.

Officers responded at around 7:20 p.m. and began investigating.

The body located was identified as 68-year-old Evelyn Faye Hannah. Police say she had been showing signs of dementia and was reported missing on Monday, Aug. 2, but was found the following day.

On Saturday, Aug. 25, Hannah was reported missing again by family after walking away from her home.

The State Crime Lab conducted an autopsy which showed no signs of foul play.
